Photos: Germany 2008Twelve of our members spent a wonderful time in Wantage’s Twin Town of Seesen in the German Harz Mountains. The dancers were invited to take part in the historic Sehusafest during the first weekend in September and were joined by the Mayor of Wantage Patrick O’Leary and Wantage Town Councillors Jenny Hannaby and Major Jim Sibbald. We performed our dances in 17th century costume and stayed as guests of the of the Seesen Twinning Association . They gave street dance displays throughout the weekend and as the only “foreign” visitors invited to the Festival, we took part in the pageantry by joining in the grand and colourful opening procession watched by over 40,000 people.
